Olympic Auditorium Wrestling Battle Royals
1971-1976

One of my traditions at the various record companies at which I worked over the years (Blue Thumb, Atlantic, Motown, ABC, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, etc) was a yearly bus tour to the Olympic Auditorium in Downtown Los Angeles for the annual Wrestling Battle Royal.  It was a way for me to get all of the key rock and roll writers, from all media, together for a 50-minute, two-way bus trip to 18th and Grand plus a stop at the original Tommy's Burgers at Beverly and Rampart.  I somehow persuaded my record company bosses to pay for the chartered bus, food (on the bus and at Tommy's) and up-close seats in front of the ring.  A good time was had by all each year.
